Het oorlogsjaar 1944
Verstoorde verwachtingen

‘Verstoorde verwachtingen’, zo luidt de ondertitel van het vijfde deel over het jaar 1944 in de NIOD-reeks ‘Leven in bezet Nederland’. Eén van die verwachtingen was een snelle en moeiteloze bevrijding van Nederland. Maar het liep anders. Op Dolle Dinsdag was al te vroeg gejuicht en ook met de ‘Operatie Market Garden’, die op 17 september (precies 75 jaar geleden) van start ging, kwam het er niet van. In dit programma onderzoeken Jan van Oudheusden, Erik Schumacher, Peter Romijn en René Kok wat er mis ging in die septembermaand van 1944.

During this event, Antoine Vauchez will discuss the T-Dem proposal and the key issues raised by ensuing debate with an interdisciplinary group of lawyers and political scientists from the Amsterdam Centre for European Studies (ACES).

Aantekeningen bij een moord

Dit programma gaat in op de ervaringen van Peter Vermeersch, die werd opgeroepen als jurylid bij een Belgische moordzaak. Vermeersch reflecteert op het gebruik van een volksjury en op de strafpraktijk en dader- en slachtofferschap. Het ‘herstelrecht’, een praktijk waarbij daders, slachtoffers en nabestaanden met elkaar in gesprek gaan om het verwerkingsproces te bevorderen, speelt hierbij een belangrijke rol.
