LGBTI monitor: identity politics worldwide

In cooperation with the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences (UvA)

23May2017 17:00 - 18:30

Debates on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) rights have had various results in different locations around the globe. In this year’s edition of the LGBTI rights monitor, we will especially discuss the backlash against LGBTI rights and the rejection of gender ideology in the world. With: Javier Corrales, Saskia Wieringa, and Robert J. Davidson.

Every year, SPUI25 in cooperation with the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences organises a LGBTI monitor to discuss the development of LGBTI rights throughout the previous year.

The panel will discuss the ways in which LGBTI identity politics have been deployed, engaged, and contested in different ways and in different locations.
